Vehicle- 99 explorer sport 4.0 sohc, got new plugs and wires they sent me wrong wires at first for the SOHV motor- got correct wires and replaced plugs but now I have an intermitent miss under load. I called napa they say there is no diff in part # for plugs for SOHC or SOHV motors, i'm, inclined to beieve that they are a different heat range of plugs, matter? Any help is apprecited

Off the top of my head, I don't have a clue. Motorcraft has a great lookup for OEM parts. That should sort you out.

Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the link Celly! I checked the listing for the 2000 SOHC vs the OHV and was surprised they are the same part number and gap. I would have thought the heat range would be different since the SOHV has a higher compression ratio.

When I had an intermittent miss under load, it turned out to be a problem with the coil pack - the internal resistance was too high - there is a test given in the Haynes manual if you have it.
