Our aftermarket tint material started to peel, so we ripped the rest of it off.

At one point, I used brake cleaner to try and remove the tint's glue.

Upon close inspection, there looks to be another film on the inside of the passenger front window.

Does anyone know if there is a factory applied coating and if it can be affected by strong solvents?

There is a haze that I cannot seem to clean off.

Brake cleaner ?

SMH

Rear windows do have factory tint that can not removed, but will be harmed by brake cleaner.

Leojr, I live just down road from you in Plano and my Ex has the factory "Texas Tint" aka "Privacy Glass" on it. I sure hope you didn't permanently fog the factory tint with the brake cleaner. Not sure how you'd remedy that.

It's what I use to remove the inspection and registration glue from the windshield when they are changed, so it is sorta a habit.

I am working on the front window, but it also appears to have a film on it.

Me too, I certainly didn't expect there to be another film.

It looks more scratched than fogged. If so, I suspect the glue from the soon-to-be-installed tint will mask them.
