99 Explorer Front Driveshaft, Fixable??

I took the driveshaft out of my explorer and it came out like this. Does this mean I need a new driveshaft or can I put it back together and stick it back in there???

There's a kit to replace that whole mess and it's 1/4 the price of the shaft ($84 less discounts at Rock Auto). But first make sure the splines the joint rides on is tight, if they are worn then the whole shaft is toast. You'll see the retainer clip under the mess at the end of the shaft. Change the $10 cross joint on the other end while you have the whole thing out as well.
