99 explorer radio work in 97 Ranger?

I have a 99 explorer xlt which came with a 1disc cd player/cassete player.(premium sound package i guess) Im replacing it with an aftermarket head unit from one of my friends so i can run a sub. My dad has a 97 ranger which only has a cassete player. I figured i might be a good son and throw my stock unit in for him but im not sure if there are any major wiring differences. I know my explorer has rear controls for the stock unit. Any info is appreciated. Thankyou.

i think i answered my own question. When i went to get my wiring harness, the same harness is used for a 97 ranger so i imagine it's as simple as swapping the units and plugging it in.
