I bought a complete set of seats from a wrecked 99 Explorer for a conversion I am building. The front seats are great, really comfortable. However, I believe I am missing some brackets ??? for the rear folding seats.

The rear seats for 2 have a back rest and the seat. The backrest has what appears to be a bracket that mounts on the wheel well, on the other end there is a piece of flat stock sticking down with one hole. The seat portion has 2 hinged mount brackets, and a arm that connects to the back rest. There is nothing to support the rear of the seat.

Does anyone have a picture or can direct me to a picture of this seat, installed. I can then figure what I am missing so I can complete the install.

Thank You

Welcome to the site. From what you have mentioned I think you have all your brackets, both the seats should have 3 mounting points. Two on the floor for each and one on the wheel well for both.
By the way, where are you located in the Adirondacks??

Thanks for the reply. I am a little confused. On the seatback, one side has the wheel mounting bracket. The other side just has a piece of steel (flat stock) just long enough to clear the seat back, but no where long enough to reach the floor for mounting. How does the inboard edge of the seat backs get supported ?

Ok, so that bent arm from the seat back release lever/wheel well mount going to the seat bottom is all that holds it up ??

I am at Schroon Lake, NY

Thanks for your help. I hope to get the rear seats installed in the AM, even if I have to fab a bracket. By any chance to you have a picture ?

Are you talking about where the two seats meet in the middle? If that is the case there is a pise of metal that looks like a hook somewhat. That piece mounts to piece of metal where the seatbelt mounts are. Ill see if I can take pics real quick to see what your talking about.
BTW, I used to live in Lake Placid, man I miss that place.

Texplorer;
Thanks for the pictures. I am missing the center piece where the seat belts and both seats meet. No problem, now that I know what is needed, I can fab it up easily. I really appreciate your help.

Lake Placid is a beautiful place.

You might want to check the local salvage yard. They might just have the piece you are looking for.

Thanks Brian

We are so remote in the Mountains with no Junk Yards anywhere near, so I fabricated a new center mount. The seats are in and look great. Thank You.
