99 limited
Just got this 99 explorer limited. Drove it home put a new battery in it. Drove it only once. Than today I went to start it and it started fine. Turned off the ignition. Started it again and heard a high pitch noise. So I shut the ignition off. Still heard the noise. Waited about 15 sec. Tried to start it again and nothing. Doesn't even crank. All I hear is 1 click each time I try the key. Battery is fine. All lights and the radio work. If I hold the key I can hear a little noise coming from the engine on the other side of the dashboard. I called my friend and his dad is a mechanic and he thought it was the cilanoide "sorry for the spelling" which is the starter. Please help I just got the thing and its a big paper weight right now. Any ideas of what it is let me know. Thanks

Also the check engine came on. If that helps

High Pitched sound may have been the starter. Possible it did not disengage. The flywheel may also have been damaged when that happened.
