Does anyone know where I can get whatever brackets I need to mount fog lights in my '99 front bumper? (Other than Ford)

Thanks,

Have you tried a junkyard?? Might be able to find some there. Or maybe try emailing FordPartsNetwork. I'm sure they'll be able to get them, and for less than the dealer. Good luck finding some, and post pictures when you get that new bumper on.

I've been trying to find the bracket also, I broke the driver side bracket, If you go to the dealer they only sell the whole assmbly bracket and fog lite without mounting hardware and want $90 per side. You might try junk yards, I've tried but no luck you could call FPN, I looked on the web site but couldn't find them, I ended up using epoxy to put mine back together so I haven't been looking really hard..

Good luck

I thought of going to a junkyard but I'm just soooo sick of junkyards right now. I've obtained a bunch of stuff from them recently and it's just a pain in the ass. Especially for something like foglights.

I'll try fordpartsnetwork and see what they have to say.

Thanks,

Well I contacted FPN and they want $257 for the kit. Too much for me. I'm going to see if anyone on this site who has upgraded wants to sell their stock lights.

If anyone does please e-mail me.

That seems like a lot. Do you need the lights too or just the brackets? If you just need the brackets, did you specify that when you contacted FPN?? That seems way too much just for the brackets.

For example, when I installed my overhead console, I needed the steel bracket that bolts to the roof that the console then bolts to. Well the Ford dealer wanted $50 for it and I would have had to wait a month. FPN wanted $9.99 for it and I got it in 3 weeks (special order part). The price they quoted you must be for the lights and everything.

I got tired of buying new $$ ones when I broke mine wheeling. Here's what to do. Buy one more set and cut off the bottom part of each bracket. The light will hold fine with just the upper bolts and the bottom section will no longer be there to break off and destroy the rest of the bracket with it. The bottom of the fender will now be able to bend all it wants to while hitting stuff on the trail and it won't grenade the fog lamp bracket when it bends.

To clarify, the FPN price was for the "fog light kit" I assume this means lights, brackets, harness, etc. As my X did not come with fog lights I would need the whole shebang. I'm going to look to see how much the PIAAs cost as they come with everything needed and are better lights (I assume).

I just realized though, the PIAAs might not come with whatever bracket is needed to mount the fog lights in the bumper.

What bracket is used for the OEM lights? Does anyone know if the PIAAs come with hardware that could be used to mount them in the bumper?

Thanks for any info,

I would agree that the FPN "fog light kit" will likely come with everything you need to install the lights (lights, wiring, brackets, etc.) I would email them back and be more specific saying that you need only the bracket that the lights mount to, not the lights and other crap, then the price will likely drop significantly.

The PIAAs won't come with the factory style bracket you need to mount them to. They will probably be a simple stud and nut type mount that you will have to drill a hole, or use an existing hole, in the factory bracket. But the PIAA lights will be much better than the stock ones for the money. The stock ones are as, if not more, expensive than the PIAAs.

Does anyone know if the PIAA lights wil work with the factory mounting bracket? That would be a sweet set up.:bounce:
