99 SOHC Sputtering.

A friends 99 SOHC is having issues, it would barely run and threw a code running lean on bank 1 so did compression test on 1 and 2 and no significant differences and put new plug in afterwards it is now only throwing a code Emissions control module. What happens is when you rev in park or neutral it almost wants to stall out that is how it was before changing the plug and when it thew the lean code. We have tried cleaning the MAF, and IAC now I'm not sure where to turn now. Not sure why it would throw the emissions code after a new plug when it ran the same before. When you put it in gear it will move under idle but when you try giving it gas it shuts off almost right away. Anyone have any ideas?

check the fuel pressure......im not sure what psi it should be at someone else around here will know...... if its 2 low the fuel pump is bad......



-change the fuel filter

-change the mass air sensor

-change the Throttle position sensor

also


- a leaky injector will throw a emission code because of access fuel not being burned.....

- replace O2 sensors they can make the vehicle not run correctly(by leaning it out) and throw emission codes........
