99 sport monoleaf questions

hi everyone, ive got a 99 sport w/ the monoleaf and was thinking of putting on a shackle/tt lift and wanted to know if i HAD to change to 4 door leaf springs, it seems everyone does but if its only for a minimal lift over the mono then ill just leave it but if the mono cant handle the stress then ill get the 4 door springs and does it matter what year the springs come from or can the even come from a ranger? i would probably just get some from a junk yard. one last thing on the 99s the front where the fog lights is a little different will i have to trim the front to fit some 265/75 r16s? thanks for all your help

no you don't have to. the 4dr leaf will give you benefits though. it will likely give you lift by itself. i got a little over an inch with just that. they will help with the nose dive and load capacity as well. i think they handle better... but you can put them on the monoleaf as far as i know.
you can get 4drs from any year up to 02 4drs.. and no.. if you have to trim for the 265s.. it will be the rear of front fenderwells and is just some plastic. good luck.

thanks for the info, i forgot to ask if when you add the 4dr springs and get an extra inch or so will you be able to crank the torsion bars enough to compensate for not only the warriors but the 4dr springs also? thanks again i love this site

well... the shackles add about 1.5".. the leaves gave me about 1". that will depend on the leaf pack that you get and if its old or sagged any. mine was from a 99 or 00 (can't remember) with less than 20k on it.

you can usually get close to 2" on the tt without a lot of worry. so yes.. you can level it out. since the back sags anyway on the sports at least... it will look normal if you raise the back a little more than the front IMO.
