I have a 99 XLT with 67,000 miles and think it's time to switch to synthetic ATF. I know I need to disconnect the cooler line to drain all of the fluid out of the torque converter, but should I do this before or after I drop the pan and replace the filter (I've seen conflicting answers). I'm guessing if I drop the pan last, I'll need to purchase more than the refill amount of ATF since new fluid will be wasted? I just want to change as much of the fluid as possible, as I've purchased this X used and have no idea of service history... Thanks!...
