After checking the fluid the day after the slipping, I noticed it is now black - A short test in the driveway showed that the trany still engages in all gears, but I was afraid to road test in that condition.
In the past I have dropped and replaced 2 Ford trany's - Areostar, T-bird SC that had gave me long service for years.
I Love my X but... after 260k (km) I'm thinking it looks like some major bucks ahead for a rebuild. I'm pretty sure it isn't worth the hassel, but you never know and I really don't want to get into searching for a new vehicle in these uncertain times.
Any ideas on replacement cost or a cheap solution to bring her back to life would be very helpfull
Thanks
Noel
