I have a 92' 4.0. In the valley in Northern Cali it tends to get up to 100 degrees in the summer. Well, my A/C's blowing hot air. So, I had it check for leaks. The results were inconclusive. Both "Pass" and "Fail" displayed on the machine. I also didn't really feel comfortable with the mechanic, so I paid the guy for the test and took off. Now I'm back at square one. I've been told that replacing the line assembly that seems to go from one side of the motor to the other, should do the trick. My question is:
Anybody know what part I'm talking about? If so, am I on the right track?
If I replace this part and have the juice recharged I should be back in business, right?
Or should I take it in and bite the bullet?

All comment are welcome. Thanks in advance.

No you are not on the right track. If your A/C is blowing hot air, you need to check if you have refrigerant in your system and if not check for a leak. Find a mechanic that can determine if you have a leak and go from there. If you just start replacing parts randomly, it will cost you $$$$.
Over time , an A/C system will leak and eventually the refrigerant will get low. It would be cheaper to just replace all o-rings and the schraeder valves and go from there.
