I got a bunch of Air conditioner stuff replaced on my '91 XLT, new hoses, freon, compressor, and some other stuff. But it still doesn't work. The clutch spins, but I don;t think it engages. What could be the problem and how do I fix this?

Do a search using the search box at the bottom of the page for answers on this one.

I also posted on this problem within the last couble of weeks. My problem was the "clutch cycling pressure switch." Do a search for that phrase or "surging idle" and you'll be able to read the other posts that went with it.

By the way, the switch cost me 20 dollars and change with tax.

This is an easy one to miss by so called technicians or parts replacers who really don't know how an air conditioning system really works.

It is always best to properly troubleshoot a problem before the parts replacement phase. Mass parts replacement is always costly and usually leaves you wondering what really caused the problem.
