A/C Problem-just quit

I have 1998 Explorer 5.0L with excellent A/C - went to work and everything fine then 20 minutes later nothing but hot air coming out of vents-WHAT HAPPENED??? IT'S ONLY 98 out now so I need it bad! help PLEASE

See if the compressor clutch is engaging. If it is it doesn't seem there's a lot left besides compressor shot, which I would guess is less likely because it would be more of a progressive failure getting worse over time, or more likely a significant leak in the lines somewhere.
