Hello everybody,
I have an '96 Explorer XLT, and my AC has stopped working. It still blows air, but the air is hot.
Also, the AC in the rear part of the truck also needs some work. It does not blow cold air as well. And the only fan speed that works is on high.
Any ideas of how I can fix the problem?
Thank you for your help.

fan speed is probably because you need to check the fan motor resistor. hot air, you need to do what brooklynbay said about the freon and check the blend door. if the freon is low, the low pressure cut out switch is making the compressor stay off as a way to protect the compressor. if it is low you need to check for leaks fix them and do a vac and charge.
