done alot of searching and reading still cant figure out my issue, here we go, was low on freon reading arond 15 psi low side, shot some to it got it close to right wouldnt engage my compressor so i jumped the low pressure switch still not blowing cold air, took my psi reading back down to 15 or 18 psi when compressor was engaged, so i shot a little more to it, still wouldnt bring my psi up, still blowing warm air, once i cut the a/c ofcourse i had a little more than 35 psi in the system but it would cycle my compressor on and off still no could air any ideas? i would say low pressure switch in most cases but even jumped and compressor running as it should its still blowing warm air, my climate control is working properly, clogged hose maybe? ive noticed my hvac tubes arent really getting cold either. its a 96 xlt

dont know if it will help any but when i cut it on its making a hissing sound out the center vents

clogged orifice tube maybe? in case you don't know what this is, it's like a small cone-shaped, very fine screen filter. if your compressor is beginning to go, you may have put metal filings into the system, which clogged the orifice tube. this would prevent the refrigerant from making it's way to the evaporator.

i was thinking maybe orifice tube myself its full of freon and seems it will try to blow cool air just not cold, wish i would have ran into this problem earlier before the summer set in so hot lol. guess ill look into fixing it. thanks koda
