A/C Smells???

When I got in the car this morning to go to work, my A/C air completely stunk for the first 30 seconds or so . I do not know how to describe it, but it kind of smelled like anti-freeze somewhat. Is that possible? I have been noticing this everynow and then for seconds at a time when the A/C is on when driving. This morning it was just a very prominent smell.

Any Ideas?

Ahhh, that sweet smell of antifreeze. I've replaced 2 heater cores and 1 mixing valve on my Ford products over the years. I'd check the antifreeze level over a period of a couple days. If it is going down, then theres the problem..a leak(probably in the above mentioned parts). I've also had the A/C drain and pan clog with slime that caused a really bad smell. Took out the heater thermistor and had access to the evap core. Used copious amounts of bleach with a garden hose power rinse to solve that problem. Good luck with the funk search!
