I've got a 2000 XLS 4.0 OHV.
Been having trouble w/ the a/c when I'm going down the road and I let off the gas the a/c qits blowing cold and automatically blows hot air. When I get back into the gas pedal and build the rpm's up the a/c blows cold again. I've had the high and low pressure switches replaced and my mechanic still can't find the problem. Any suggestions would help.

Thanks,
Greg Wright
281,000 miles and still strong

wow quite the miles you got packed on their. Is that a different Vehicle in your sig??? hows the pressure in the ac system?? sounds like its low (wait for a second opinion, i know little);)

Your AC system sounds ok if you can get cold air. Curious..... I'm gonna have to think on this one a little... Be interesting to hook up a gauge set and watch the pressures as you drive it...

Could this be a symptom of a failing compressor or a blockage in the lines?

Since the a/c is warm at idle, I would hook up a guage set, both high and low pressure, (as Glacier recommended) and see whats going on. Tough to tell without pressures.

This could get expensive.
