So both my lower and upper balljoints on both sides went bad recently. Got the parts from the local dealership (father works there, get quite a discount). I started opening boxes and realized that both of the upper control arms were one piece (unlike the stock passenger side which is that two piece deal). Has anyone ever seen this? I installed them, and everything looks O.K. I know they didnt just give me two drivers side arms on accident because the arms are clearly marked with a "R" for the right side and a "LH" for the left hand side, and the balljoint is slightly offset in the same direction on both arms when installed (I think towards the rear, but not sure on this one). Like I said, everything looks O.K. it drives fine, and doesnt pull at all. But I ran a search, and nobody mentioned having a one piece arm on the passenger side, so I'm kinda worried they gave me the wrong one.

Also, I'm gonna do the lower joints tomorrow. Has anybody done the lowers with the arm still attached the the truck, and the tension still on the t-bar? I REALLY dont want to deal with pulling that bar out the release the tension if I can just leave the arm on the truck.

Thanks guys.

yes the upper was switched to a one piece design...

u dont need to pull the lower A-arms or remove the torsion bars to do lower ball joints... the lower ball joints have nothing to do with the torsion on the A-arm.

Well that took a load off my mind. :D

As far as the lowers go, I know the joints have nothing to do with the load on the spring. I just wasnt sure if you could press out the old one, and press in the new one while leaving it on the truck.

Thanks alot for the quick reply man.
