I've got the 5.0 explorer. Anywho, I have been in the search for the infamous PCV valve. I thought I found it yesterday, but it doesn't appear to be oriented right.
Here's my first question, is the PCV valve located on the top of the lower intake manifold, or is it actually mounted on the backside of the intake manifold?
And, if it is located on the top face of the lower intake manifold, someone who has actually replaced it, was their replacement valve an L shaped one, or a straight one?
I ask because I thought I found it yesterday, looked (and sounded) right, but when I pulled the hose, the PCV looked like an inline valve instead of an L that every store is selling. I need to fix this by 2 because the Ford is going back in to the dealer and I want this fixed so they don't try and blame my engine noises on something other than what they are.
Thanks for any help.
