First on my list of problems is:

When I goto start my truck it makings this horrible SCREEEEECVCHGHGH!~!! but not turning over. Someone else had this problem and I believe it to be a battery/battery cable problem. I bought cable today and getting a new battery tomorrow. I need some reccomendations on the best battery!

Next on the list is my mile marker hubs. For a while now sometimes my steering just pulls to the right like crazy and starts making a horrible sound. I get out look around feel around the passenger front wheel, and my manual hub is hotter than %H*T! I knew that wasn't right so I took off the wheel and found ym locknuts had come loose. I torqued them back up to proper specs and continued on my way. It started pulling to teh right still and making noise. stillw as gettign hot!. It has since stopped for aobut 2 days now, but what if it happens again? what is going on? BTW my hubs were NOT locked. That is all for now, thank in advance!

the noise could be many things...but i dont think it has anything to do with the battery. we had something like this on our 91...thought it was the starter...ended up being starter and flywheel....flywheel was cracked and had missing teeth. as for pulling to the right, bent rim? out of alignment? sloped roads? no clue...i would have said your hub was locked but you already said you double checked it.

I second the starter/flywheel. Some starters need shims to make sure they're lined up right. In-Laws had this problem this month w/their Blazer.

Did you test to make sure hub wasn't locked even though it's turned to unlock? Raise the wheel and turn with it unlocked and make sure it isn't in fact locked for some reason.

if you do end up needing the starter/flywheel, take it to a hop or dealer. we picked up the parts and paid a buddy to do it and a month later, it needed it again. this time we went to the dealer because we know now that he didnt shim it right.

alright guys I am going to fly under there and see if everything is alright with the teeth, thanks for the input! No one suggests a good battery?!?! come on people!

if you do replace the battery, motorcraft, acdelco, diehard gold, or optima. i have always had success with oem motorcraft in both my fords and my dodge i put an acdelco in. i have heard good things about the optimas but never had one. as for die hard, has always been one of the best.
