So i have this '92 XLT, which im sooo sad right now. When i have it in park, it has high idle, im talkin 2000- 3000 rpm. when i put it to D,(D),1,2 it goes back down to 1000 rpm, an is smooth. also there sounds like an air leak somewhere around when the brake componits are(master cylinder) , an when i do press on the brakes, sometimes i hear a click.(All of my componits liquids are properly filled)

Sometimes when i stop at a stop sign, it tries to stall, an starts to jerk, but when i give it a lil gas its fine, im thinking its a fuel filter problem. idk. This truck has a rebuilt trans, has 7000 mi on it, i am thinking about either rebuilding engine, or buying a rebuilt engine, i think this truck is worth it.if anyone has an idea what may be happing , let me kno, thanks.!!!

BTW this truck does run great, from a scale out of 10, id say an 8!!!

Check all of your vacuum lines for a leak!

Good luck!

Sounds like unmetered air to me (aka: vacuum leak).

Take a can of carb cleaner and spray the hoses including around the brake booster. Also try spraying around the intake tube (from the throttle body to the MAF).

When you spray at/near a vacuum leak the idle will change. Just spray around until you find it.. Then you will know what to fix (assuming its a vacuum leak of some kind).
