I've looked around on here with little luck, however, maybe you Explorer gurus out there can help me out!
I've got a '92 Ranger 4x4, minus the 4x4. Now, my problem begins when I go to engage the four wheel drive, go figure. I used to have to hold down the four wheel selector button, at which point it would click and click and click a whole bunch of times really quick, then clunk and engage. It no longer does this, now it doesn't even click. And the strange thing is, every now and again, the 4x4 and 4L indicator lights will come on without the button being pressed, and with no four wheel drive action. I've come to the conclusion that it is either the shift motor, or the 4x4 control module. What does anyone else think?
