A little help for a Newbie.....PLEASE

Hi I am new to this forum. I would like to just say hey.
Well now it is time to talk about my questions on my car, it is a 00' 4.0 SOHC limited Xplorer.
I am not looking for anything that will make my all four tires spin since AWD, but I wouldn't mind a bit mroe power......But the main thing is I would like some more miles per gallon and maybe some other things.
I have looked at some intakes and exaust, I think that i am going to pick those 2 items up next and maybe a chip in the Future.
I was wondering does anyone have a Volant Part # 19604VOl Air intake on a car similar to mine....If so I would like to know how you like it.
Like I said I would like to get an exuast system.......probaly not full exaust... I have been looking at some things, I think i want to go with a Flowmaster 40 or 50 series muffler... i am not sure what pipe size i should go with, I would like to run it out the rear right side...behind the tire.

Any info that you think would help me being to the Xplorer world would help me out....I would really like to see some pics of similar systems, And any other intake and exaust system that you would recomend

I think most of your questions and your goals as to what you wnt to do to your Explorer has been discussed many many times before. A lot of people here run Flowmasters and couple run Volants.

Yes I realize that there is a search button but i have heard of many tube sizing......i know that i only have a V.6 SOHC so i dont need massive pipe size after searching i have found that some of the most commons are any where from 2.25-2.5 and even a few 2.75. One more question I was thinking about just running it striaght out the back or out behind right tire......... but if i was 2 get a dual in/ dual out and have a shop run it out behind each tire would there be any other mods needed to fit it besides removing spare.
