ok so i have a 2000 x with the 5.0 in it. a few weeks ago it start idling ruff, and the cel came on. i started checking some stuff, and found if i unhooked the maf sensor it would start idling better hust at a higher rpm. so i put a new maf in it, but wasnt the problem. so i hook it up to my buddys computer and it tells me the left bank is running lean. i start looking around for an air leak of some sort, and find i have a leak in the egr valve. but im having some problems getting it off any advice on getting it off.

You might want to try a socket with a wobble extension on it.

possibly metric??

Its a 5.0, there's no tube. Its sandwitched between the intake and firewall.

To the OP. I used a ratcheting box wrench with a pivoting end (hard to find). A short wrench will work (9/16" or 14mm, can't remember). You should remove the PFE (black thing) and just tie back the heater hose to gain space. Stand on a milk crate or something then life starts getting easier.
