I think it's only possible on the passenger side. Passenger side should have the mounting areas on the body to be able to do this.

Same question here! I would do it on passager side, mostly for my mother-in-law (no comments!)
And could sometime use it on the driver side as when the baby seat is behind me, entry/exit is quite narrow. Which is surprising given the size of the vehicle!?!

I called a dealer a few months ago asking about whether or not it would be possible to have grab handles for driver and passenger side A pillar.

Took a few days, but the guy I spoke to told me that apparently there are airbags located there that make not feasible to have grab handles there.

There is one that is standard above head height on the passenger side, but it does seem that those with retail Explorers with 16+ MYs are out of luck at this point.

That's before the 2016 redesign though, I wonder if that can be put straight in with minor mods.

According to the Auto Nation Ford site, the handle is not listed for post 2015 Explorers, retail or Interceptor. 2011-2015 Ford Handle BB5Z-7831406-AB | Auto Nation Ford White Bear Lake
