A scam????

It's actually a combination of a couple of things,
1) Rich is correct, they will sue you.
2) look at the amount, Hmmm, just under 10k..
They actually want you to launder the money for them.
In the end, they will have ALL 9.3k, your truck (whever it ends up, prolly Mexico) and have used you to clean up money from dubious sources.
Oh Robert, I got one of those 'letters' some years, but I do work at a bank. Our internal Audit looked into it and they reported that there were some fish out there that took the bait.
Too Good To Be True ?? TRUE.

Eh, after reading the possibilities from other posters, I'd take my Explorer and stay away from this man/woman. It's much to risky.

There are some legit outfits that want American Cars. People are always shipping Autos over here. I know quite a few people here who have sold there Car/Truck to someone here. Usually its here is the Money for the Vehicle and the money for the Shipment. Once it arrives its theirs.

It's Usually Big American Cars. There are also alot of Companys here that Buy 1000's of Cars/Trucks from Rental Companys in the States then Ship them here and then sell them.

There are some Legit Companys but the $9300 first then mail me the rest of the Money. I would have to Agree with the others SCAM.

Now that I have My Explorer the way I want it. I get Offers everyday to buy it. Since they realize its from American & it looks Awesome!

SCAM

Gotta agree with what most people are saying here. Yes, there are legit people out there, but this is just way too fishy for me. I'd say no. Come on, $9300, you send the rest? They must be very trusting...

But then again, it's your choice. Let us know what happens

To Jakerot

New Egypt is next to Jackson, 5 min. from Great Adventure. (1 hour-10 min. away from Clifton)

yup, I believed it was legitimate until he threw in the bologna abouthe'll write you a check for $9300 then you send the rest... thats just bull.

FYI, when my sister bought her pathfinder I warned her it sounded like too good of a deal. It was a guy from saudi arabia that was selling it for his "cousin" who had been sent back to saudi arabia and couldn't afford transportation feed (but yet could afford a $5000 loss on a car, LOL) and needed to sell it immediately. Seemed like an ok car though... then a few weeks later we get something int he mail saying "while your not under suspicion, your vehicle and the circumstances behind it are"... turns out it was a totalled vehicle that was somehow bought back, repaired, and sold as new with a fradulant title.

Just sell your truck in a conventional manner; you will be much happier after all is said and done.

Good luck......

If a cashiers check shows up I would make absolutely sure that your bank will cash it and that they are responsible if it is not legal tender. Not that the cashiers check would show up anyway.

I am definitely interested to see where this goes. My interest is with you, however. I do want you to keep your truck and sell it legitmately. And remember:

CASH IS KING!!

does sound fishy

make sure you print out everything! print all the emails, record your phone conversations if you have any, and even print out this whole post. my father, mother, and brother are all attorneys and i work at the firm too. you cant lose in court if you have proof of these agreements and you do what your suppose to (send the rest of the money back) get proof from the post office or something too of your return of the rest of the money

but whats with this "pick-up service"? just tell this jack*ss to have his guy come and pick it up with a nice fat wad of $2500 cash. or a check, but go with the guy to cash it, just to make sure.

heres the bottom line. if hes paying $500 more, hes desperate. if hes desperate, he should compromise with his games and play this your way only. if he only wants it his way, then its got to be a scam.

sounds like a terrible convincing job if it is actually a scam, but it does have us all thinking!

well, this person was quick to reply to me three times, UNTIL I asked him to send me a check for $2500 and have his "associate" mail him the rest. Haven't heard from him yet!
