I have 2 12's and a 10 pointed at my trunk. If they're too close it sounds bad, if they're too far away it sounds bad. Is there a sweet spot for either the subs or the explorer to get the max resonation and bass out of the subs? like 2 ft away or whatever it may be?
thanks
nick

I had my subs facing up at the roof, because I had no room to place them anyother way... But it had a realy sweet boom....

I think it's good when the sub has something to load off of, like the hatch. It shouldn't really matter how far away it is if you have good subs and enough power.

lol i had a home stereo system in the back of mine, w and 85 watt stereo, just put the speakers behind the back seats and pointed them at the back hatch (10" subs), it was pretty good base

I tohught it wasnt good to mix different sub sizes, unless you have them all doign different frequencys and all theat complicated stuff??

PEACE

i ended up having the ten facing forward/sideways picking up higher frequencies and the two 12's about 3 feet from the hatch. That's how I'm gonna leave it for now.

theres a thread here..i cant seem to find it probably because i dont remember the name

but they did acctual tests to see where a sub would sound good in a jimmy or something and the proved with numbers it sounded best at the back hatch

weather that will apply to your truck i dont know seeing as a jimmy isnt even close to an Ex

my sub faces the back..when i get both going they will both be facing the back
