Hi, I need help

I just got my tranny rebuilded and it looks like they overfilled it. it's about 1 1/2 inch over the max when hot, no weird smell, no bubbles, no foams, still red.

the tranny works well, only problem is , if i rev the engine at WOT the truck will go up to maybe 4300rpm and hit the rev limiter without shifting into the next gear, I have to let go the gas a bit for it to shift. If I'm in OD and I punch it "wot" it will not do anything.

is this normal when a tranny is overfilled ?Id like to know now.

I will be removing the excess fuild tonight and I will then see if it makes a difference.

I don't know why this happens, but my old 92 used to do the simalar thing. If I was cruising at around 100 kmph and pinned her to pass another car on the highway the tranny would totally disengage and would wind the engine right out. Once the I let the gas off the engine revs would come down and the tranny would reingage and would jolt the truck badly. I could never figure this out. I did change the oil regularly in the tranny and never had a problem with overfilling it, so it almost seems that overfilling it will have no effect on this problem.

ok, you said it used to do that, it's not doing it anymore ???

and my truck does not jolt when it reingage.

Sorry, Yeah, it used to do it until my overdrive clutch pack exploded. There is a snap ring in the clutch pack that holds a retaining ring in place that holds the pressure springs in place. The snap ring came loose and all the springs got mangled and destroyed the piston in the clutch pack. I don't know if this is why the tranny would do this, but it may have been. I sold the truck since, so I don't know any more about it. I am just more less interested for my own knowledge and to help others out with their tranny problems if I can.

the a4ld transmissions are fussy about fluid levels, down just a little they dont shift right and to full isnt good either.
