a4ld binding in low gear.

hey guys. im having a very hard time figuring this transmission out. I got a 94 exploder and the tranny possibly exploded.... just kidding. I have an a4ld in it and if I put in manual low if feels like its binding up. it revs to about 3000 rpm and no higher but it does not go. if I put it in manual 2nd it will drive but it also will only rev to about 3000 rpm but I will keep excellerating. if in d or od it will not start in first it does the same in second but seems to shift to 3rd and od no problem. does anyone have a clue whats going on. also im just taking my baby steps into the forum world so I may need someone to hold my hand.

one more thing to add about second gear. if I put it in manual 2nd it will excellerate to 100 mph but stay at 3000 rpm. just like a constant velocity trans. I got a constant velocity 2nd gear ha ha.
