A4LD Interchangeability

Could a buddy use the A4LD out of my 91 in his 02 Ranger? I know it should bolt up and such but will the computer run it?

I don't think the stock computer algorithms will do it. I don't know much about custom tuning, but you might be able to get someone to build a custom tune for the computer to allow it to control the A4LD.

I would rather see your friend use the money for a custom tune as a down payment for rebuilding the 5R55E (or whatever he has) rather than installing an A4LD.

Well the stocker got toasted by an extremely built SOHC 4.0, at the same time the crank ventilated the oil pan. Right now it has a stock motor back in it and he is looking for a tranny so he can sell it.
