Hey folks,
I am the proud owner of a '94 Explorer with an A4LD with converter lock-up issues. The converter stays locked in even when taking off from a stop. If I drop the shift lever out of O/D, it unlocks and takes off like it is supposed to. If I drop it out of O/D and it unlocks, as soon as I put it back in O/D, it will lock right back in.
Could this issue be cured by replacing the TC lock-up solenoid?
I have also read that these trannies have weak spring issues as well. Could that be the gremlin I seek?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
