The only flare nut wrench I have is a 10mm x 12mm but the X transmission fluid line nuts look much larger than that. Are the nuts at the transmission end metric (14 or 15mm) or standard pitch (9/16")?

answered my own question

they're 5/8"; best to use a flare nut wrench on these as you would on a caliper line nut.

Nice of Ford to stick with metric sizes all the way through the vehicle (sigh).

lol i notice most of the bolts, fittings, etc are metric... just did some work with the back leaf springs.. 18mm, and what are the chances of me finding an 18mm deep socket? Found one in a kit that was $100, then went to a buddies place and found it layin on a shelf, just like when i found my mafs :D
