a4ld stuck in OD

The rooster comb part is called a Manual Valve Lever - #7C494.
The spring that pops into each one of the "combs" is as Glacier called out.
7E333 is the part number for the s-link, called a Manual Valve Detent Lever Inner Pin
The "flat steel washer" that goes on the inside of the s-link is called just that and is #E630020-S, and the outer clip is called a Rod Retaining Clip - #E662312-S
'94 Explorer is an A4LD unless previously swapped - these numbers are for the A4LD.

Here is a tech bulletin about the "binding condition in park" and how to remedy the situation:

Wow that was more info than I ever thought I would get thanks a bunch!!!

Still havent fixed itq

HA ha ha I still havent fix this problem I just rteturned to get the details from you guys. heading to a shop to get this done next week after payday. I would do it my self but i went to the junk yard and attempted to remove the valve cover to gain access to this rooster thinggy to remove it and found I couldnt find the last bolt so i couldnt get the valve cover off. it was silly. but it wasnt my car. so no harm done. I know I was missing one of them 20 some odd bolts. I got me a tranny repay book for 20 bucks. I'll post it later.
Thanks anyways...great site

ok so i take my truck to a tranny shop and ask him to check this part, he asks what the problem is and I tell him. so he says it isnt the rooster or the s-link it needs a complete rebuild.. I tried to explain all this from the board but I didnt have the material with me or couldnt remember the details. but i told him he was wrong and I would return with the job completed.

it is funny how many tranny shops refused to be told what the problem is and want to diagnose it themselves. must be the money.

oh and I asked him to clean out the governer for me since I really didnt want to get down and dirty to do it. and he proceeded to explaine how it is done.
like he didnt want to do it. ahhh well. I have a friend who does this stuff so I will try there.

when all else fails I will do it myslef..but I lack the equipment to do so. and will end up spending some $$ on tools.well I am just lazy..hehe
