WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
I dropped the pan, again.
I removed the low reverse servo and poked around, inside. I inserted a thin, long projectile inside and scraped upon the opposite side of the case.
.....*Where the heck is the band???*
So I went inside the house and gathered a small maglite and a coat-hanger. I forged a instrument with a 45-degree angle on one end. I inserted it inside the servo hole and gave it a 360-degree spin.
..... CHA-CHING!!!
*Does the Happy Dance*
:
A few pokes straight up and the reverse band was again, re-aligned into perfect position!!!
*Rolling on the floor, naked*
I now have reverse, again!!!
I am now confident that my transmission will go on to provide for me at least another 100,000 miles, or so. (The engine is equally strong and vibrant, dispite having a little over 200,000 miles on it).
Thanks to all, but especially Glacier991, who most likely has given himself a few brain-tumors after the excessive amount of time he spent in front of his computer monitor... posting these "Transmission/Valve Body Rebuild Diaries" that certainly have shown themselves to be some of the most VALUABLE resources on the entire internet!!!
:notworthy
Is there a "Donations" tab around here, somewhere?
I'd be most happy to throw down a twenty for Glacier's "Weekend Barbecue and Brats" fund, or something to that effect.
Thanks, all......... it's great to have my truck back in full working order.
:smoke:
(Oh,..... not quite full..... I still don't have cruise-control or air conditioning).
