Im running shackles set at one inch on top of my superlift springs. These springs are flattend out a bit and getting the drivers side lean. The lift is 4 years old so its dated a bit. I want to add the add a leaf to bring them back to life but dont know if its going to bring them past 4" to see if i should still run shackles and be safe. Or if i could pull off aal/shackles-2" with the springs and not take it higher than i can make the front. Im putting in fresh axles next week and was goin to tweak up the suspension while its all apart.

I think the aal alone will end up givin you between 1.5-2" once it settles. Keep in mind also that extended shackles seem to flatten springs quicker, and i believe the superlift springs are a pretty soft spring. While everythings apart swap the passenger and driver around to also help with the driver side lean

The truck my lift kit came off of had a 3" bl and superlift. He wasnt running lift shackles but yet i have since its been on the truck. I can say the springs certainly have flattend out but from what i can tell not much in the past year. The one thing that has me wondering how these would be with the aal is that with the truck sitting on stands at the frame ive got an extra 8" to 10" or so at full droop. Another thing that irks me is that it seems like everyones ex looks bigger than mine! Aside from that im trying to make just enough room to tuck 35's compfortably. At this point im sure the aal will make its self worth while but i wasnt sure if itd bring me up past fresh spring height or with the condition they are in now they'd wake them up to new. Also ive got maybe a half inch of thread left on my torsion adjuster bolt. I want to brong her up level not at a rake

The AAL that was recommended on here to me only gave me 1", and it hasn't settled yet. 1.5-2" using what AAL?

...and his springs should already have more arch.

Make sure when doing the TT that you still have down droop. If you max out and don't have any down droop your tires won't follow the road and will negatively affect handling. I wouldn't go less than 2" of down droop.

To check down droop, measure your height at rest (fender lip is a good point), then jack the front up under the cross member until the tires are just ready to no touch the ground. Then measure again.

Check to see what torsion bars you are using in the front, maybe you need heavier. With the Superlift 4" and torsion you should be able to get 5" comfortably. More than that and you need body lift or solid axle conversion.

If I read it right you are only getting 2" lift out of your original 4" Superlift springs??? I would say try to get another full set of another brand of springs, 2" of settle in 4 years sounds excessive.

IF you are trying to get 4"+ of lift, have you considered SOA? It is a good time to do it if you are replacing axles too.

I have considered soa but with stock springs, which i dont have. If i did go soa with superlift springs its be with sas, which WILL come with time. Its been irking me that alot of pics i see with the superlift everybody seems higher than me. I just finished up installing the new rear axle (front gears were wrong) and bumped my shackle to 2". I was hoping to remove the shackles and run the aal to bring them back to life and no longer need shackles. When i first put the lift on i was bottoming out on more on the trails than with tt/shackles. So i turned them up a little bit and kept me happy. Today i brought them up a bit more (to match rear) and with jacking up the front i have about 3" of down travel. I do need to get limiting straps but than again my whole front axle is shifted to the passenger side so ill correct that when i put in the fresh front axle

This is where I am now, I'm about to max it in a few minutes when I decide to jack it up.

I maxed my torsion bolts didn't like it and leaned to the driver side **** so I took a drive to true value and picked up some bolts that was the same but twice as long and replaced them amd gat the full two inches and it sits level now

I cant crank them any more just tried. One side will one side wont and they both have the same amount of thread left.
