OKAY ,, what's wrong w the explorer sport? :navajo: Trying to buy some rims for a reasonable price, and i'm having a terrible time w/ the whole back spacing issue?? not much on the tech stuff so i'm starting to sense this is a problem on my truck ,, i've ordered two sets of diff/ rims and they both are outta stock, or the back spacing is totally outta wack. Am I destined to keep the stock rims on? ONLY trying to spend like 140 or so a rim,, so not wanting to much bling bling,, but american racing has dropped the ball a couple of times ,, pacer rims any good? thanks for any help on this,,,, wanting to put 255-70-16 bfg ATs after i get some stupid rims,, Someday hopefully this will come to be a reality,,,

Just find a 16x8 with 3.75 backspacing or 4" backspacing since your only putting a 70 series tire on.

not necessarily, ive noticed the 2002 and up explorers look like they have much less bs then 3.75.

yeah , that's the problem i'm having,, I know you guys probably have a better idea then what the tire stores employees have knowlodge of. No pressure!!!lol, But seriously i'm striking out w/ the rims 16x7- or 16x8s, not having any luck at all it seems, just wanting to know if you all have had the same luck as I have? thanks for the help!!

I got excellent results going to a local used rim and cap shop. They all knew the X rims in and out and were recommended by a couple of the other wrecking yards I had called first here in Clearwater, FL. This was a necessary since three of the factory rims were welded up with a wobble in them. $220.00 for the first one from Ford vs $75.00 for the used one, the spare will stay that way till I get some $.
