My 32" tires have sand blasted my paint for years. Before I repaint the Explorer I have to install fender flares to preserve the job, and before I decide for the special deal Warn flares with CarParts coupon. Are there any considarations, pros and cons, other brands etc?

I haven't heard much about the Warn fender flares though I'm sure they are of good quality.... now if they could just make a spindle nut that wasn't always coming loose... I have the Bushwacker flares and have been impressed quite often by them - they've taken a lot of damage away from teh body by being the first thing to hit. There pretty durable and I think everyone that has em likes em.

I also have the Bushwacker Flares and think they are a good quality product. The retainers ocassionally come slightly loose but not enough to actually lose the flares.

Thanks Matt, Lobo
I like the style of the Bushwhacker fenders also. How are they fastened? Sheet metal screws...

uses some screws that are drilled into the body, uses pop rivets on the portion around the rear door.

For those that have the Bush Wacker Flares, was the install easy? How long & any special tools? Or is this something to have the shop do? Also, I plan on having 35 X 15.5's on there next year, will these cover those or am I out of luck by then?

Thanks for the input, great question Rob.

Gofast - the shop installed mine for free (hey, you spend $10 grand they give you $50 worth of free labor, heh heh) so I can't tell you how easy it was... I know you need a drill, power screwdriver, and pop rivet tool, thats about it I think.
