I've been doing some minor off-roading, mostly in snow. I find my "ABS" light comes on the dash while digging through the snow and doesnt come off even on flat road until I restart the truck. Is this normal? I'm assuming this means my ABS is turned off and I would obviously like it back on right away. If this isn't normal, why are they shutting off, and any ideas how to prevent it. Thank you.

While its blinking get on something slippery and slam the brake to see if it's working or not.

Do a search, some recently had the same prob. I don't remember if they got it fixed or not.

I had our '02 out, someone said its just normal operation. With the wheels spinning, the computer gets confused and can't get the other wheels to move(it thinks the stopped ones are sliding) so it thinks there is something wrong, and disables it self.

it doesnt really seem like a problem i just want to make sure everyone gets this

When the wheels start spinning faster than a certain speed the ABS computer has a problem reconciling the difference and starts flashing. Not a problem, and as you said, corrects itself when you restart.
