My abs light has been on and off for a week. Hasn't come on in a while. Is this something I should worry about. Also does anyone use a torque wrench on the alloy wheels. Thanks

You probably have a bad sensor on one of the four wheels.

I'd torque alloy wheels at 100 ft lbs.

My ABS light has been on and off for a couple days. I was planing another warranty trip to the stealership, so I wasn't too worried about it. I was driving through a parking lot while the light was off, about 15mph. When I touched the brake, the ABS kicked in and I felt like I didn't have brakes. I was braking lightly anyway and didn't think to stomp it to see if anything was there. It was enough to move the stealership visit higher up on the priority list. If the light is on, I believe the ABS is disabled leaving you with regular brakes.

ya, i bet it the rear abs sensor, thats how mine acted before it went. No ABS with the light on, you can lock them up.

110lbs.

Well, got it fixed today. It was the rear speed sensor.

yep, i was going to say rear abs sensor in the differental.

had it happen to me.

20$ part, one bolt/plug. and i used compressed air to blow off dirt from around the sensor.

hardest part was figuring out lowering the spare tire for the first time with out reading the instructions.

I brought my explorer back to the mechanic and he said it was the pressure switch connector. He said he cleaned the connection and the code was a general abs code. But it hasn't come on since.
