2000 X with abs. When I go to stop, the brakes start start pumping as if the abs is engaging, even the pavement is not wet or slippery. I was told that this might be caused by the abs pump, but that make sense if the system is obviously working. Might it be 1 of the sensors or the computerfor the abs.

probably a bad sensor. Did you do any front end work recently?

Could be your rear abs sensor. They are known for going bad. Its on top of your differential.

Nothing has been done to the truck recently, other than changing brakes last year. Can the abs system be disconnected?

You can unplug the sensor in the back to see if thats the problem.

Thanks for the help guys!!!
