Was in the shop with my truck and they replaced a rear break line, went through the whole bleeding process, but they coudln't get the firmness in the pedal. I had the rear pads and calipars repalced, tried gravity bleading and it worked fine, but then depressing and loosing couldn't get it to squirt the rear like it did the front. I don't know much about abs personally, but i talked to my uncle and he says you need a power bleeder to do it properly, it's probably sending a false signal or something. any advice would be greatly apprciated. Thanks.

if you cant get the fluid to squirt like mad during the bleeding process, then i would check for a leak -- or tell the person at the brake pedal to push harder ;) leaks typically appear at the brake fittings. the person doing the pumping should feel the pedal sink to the floor once the bleeder valve is opened.

I recently finished doing the brake system on my vehicle and this was one of the problems I ran into.

the pedal sinks to the floor during the whole bleeding process. it's not going back to being rigid is hte problem. There are no leaks through the entire line.

if its sinking all the way to the floor - then either you still have air in the system, or you have a leak.

Master cylander was shot. Due to air in the system the piston hyper-extended and tore the boot. Should be done in 30min or so, then it's new tires and my truck should be as good as new.

Does that mean the SHOP broke the Master Cylinder, therefore they should have paid for the new one?
