Can anyone tell me where the rear abs sensor is located? And is it the same as the vehicle speed sensor? They look like the exact same part on oreillyauto.com but have different part numbers. BWD ABS Speed sensor part #abs111, BWD Vehicle Speed sensor part #SN7143, and BWD Vehicle Speed sensor part #SN7142. I think Its located on the diff. but i dont know if its the abs or the vss.
I have a 97 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 awd and was driving to work and suddenly it felt like the brakes were grabbing and it created a little smoke but im pretty sure they didnt lock the wheels. It didn't pull to either side, it was like trying to drive with the parking brake on.The Abs light came on and i feels like the brakes keep grabbing, even after i pulled the abs fuse. Anyone know if it is the rear abs sensor and which part i need?
