My dad has a 2002 Explorer that does not move air from the top defrost vents. I thought it was a blend door/actuator issue, but its not. We noticed last night that there is a vacuum pump, accessible through the glove, box with a red (I think) vac line attached to it. There is a thin metal part that connects to a plastic piece, which controls the air flow. My problem is that the plastic portion that connects the two is broken. Is there a fix for this?

epoxy...or a new part. if the repair will interfere with the opperation of the part youll have to get a new one....ive seen a couple of those broken and fixxed with epoxy...but if its broken too close to the plenum it cant be fixed and will have to be replaced

The broken part is gone. Do you have any idea what part it is? or have a diagram?

does anyone know how to repair the lever on the panel/defrost door? Can someone post a pic of one so I can figure out how to fix it?
