This is more of a question for those of you who know how the AC system works...

What kind of power does the plug on top of the compressor deliver to engage the clutch? Is it just a 12V power supply that turns on to engage the clutch and off to disengage it?

The reason I'd like to know is that I want to wire an indicator light inside the truck that will show me when the clutch is engaged and when it is off. I realize that you can hear it at low speeds, but I want to monitor it on the highway as well. Does anyone have a good idea of how I might do that?

If the plug is connected, one will be 12v and the other will be ground...

If the plug isn't connected (e.g. so you can manually test the clutch etc) you must supply 12 volts to one connector and ground to the other..
