my ac was converted to 134a a few years back after the impact with the dear destroyed the condensor and released all that r12....bad deer, hurting the ozone, lol.

Anyway, today it wasn't blowing cold air so I pulled out my guages to see what was up. The compressor runs but never cycles off. When I hooked up the guages I watched my low side pressure stay the same for 45 minutes. This would be the same as it was with the engine off and pressure equalized in the system. My high side gauge is messed up so I can't get a pressure for it but I would assume if from equalized to 45 minutes later the low side didn't move that the high side is probably the same as the low and didn't move either.

I would assume this means my compressor has kicked the bucket?

whats your low side pressure? you kinda need the high side pressures to tell if your compressor is truly trash. tap on you low side cycle switch to see if its stuck on.

If your low side pressure is above about 45 psi, the compressor should be on. Sounds like that switch is working fine. If pressures are equal throughout the system, then either the compressor is bad or the orfice tube is flat missing since those are the dividing points. I highly doubt the orifice tube is gone, so the compressor is your best bet. But high side gauge (as mentioned) would sure help. But for now, take a look at the orifice tube and see if there is any debris. That should give you a good indication. If the compressor has failed, be sure to replace or flush EVERYTHING.
