Hey guys,
My sister has a problem with the AC in her car. Its not an explorer (its a 2000 nissan sentra 4 door) but I was hoping the great guys here could help me out.

It is blowing warm air. She took it to a shop and $1000 later they said it was *fixed* and it wasnt and it was one of those mom and pop all sales final deals (shes a girl and got ripped off, she doesnt think) So, what should I do to fix it (no im not going back to the shop, I mean MYSELF) Can I recharge it? If not, what do I check for to see which part is bad? Thanks fellas

What did they do for a $1000 ? Change compressor? If they don't make it right, go to a small claims court. Does it blow cool air at all? When you switch to AC does the compressor come on? Have someone turn the switch to AC while you watch the compressor to see if it comes on. IF the charge is low the low limit switch will not let the compressor come on. But why would it be low if they worked on it? Maybe there was a leak and they changed some stuff that was not bad thinking that was the problem.
You need to take it to a reliable shop.

i know i know but we cant afford a reliable shop at the moment

so if the AC switch is turned on and the compressor doesnt turn on, the "freon" is low?

The compressor will not run if the refrigerant is low.
