Mornin folks~ Here's the deal.... When I accelerate it surges. It runs great then drags down and will spark knock then run great then bog down a little and spark knock but doesn't always spark knock, sometimes it just bogs down... When that happens, it goes n bogs goes and bogs just that quick. However, if I let off the gas slightly, it seems to go away until I throttle down gain. I live on top of the mountain so going home is at the very least pi**ing me off with this issue. I don't really know where to start. All the things I can seemingly think of are on the electrical parts side and everyone knows once you buy electrical parts you can't return them. I'd appreciate any help youins can give me. Thanks again, in advance, Bobby. :)

If you are having good fuel pressure it could be a spark issue or a air issue. Either the throttle plate is getting stuck or you could have a bad wire/plug or it could be the coil pack. Clean the throttle body and do a resistance test of the coil pack and then do a spark test. Pull the fuel pump relay and pull out the spark plug individually and crank the engine and see how good of a spark each one of them is getting.

I'll give it a shot~ Thanks!

Cleaned tb...R&R coil pack and wire...STILL same sh**....

I was having the same issue until I used some seafoam. I put it through the vacuum tree where the brake booster hose connects. Just follow the directions for vacuum tube application, I did not need to add any to my fuel or oil. Give it a shot if you didn't already.

Yup...lol...2 cans in a 2 week span. Possibly TPS??

Did you clean your MAF sensor?

Mine bogged really bad, and then I cleaned all the gunk off of it and it rarely bogs any more. It was very coated in gunk.

I would say test your TPS (it is just a variable resistor you can test it with an OHM meter) and check fuel pressure on your fuel rail.

Ok, 1st thing in the am... And yes, the MAF is the 1st thing I cleaned...

What kind of air filter are you running? A dry one or a wet oil one? If an oiled one when did you clean it last before or after you cleaned you MAF?

I also have to agree with the TPS sensor as a likely part for this. Same with an air filter possibility depending on the kind of filter and when it was cleaned VS when the MAF was cleaned.
Fuel pump pressure also. May be good at idle but is the pressure and volume there at speed?
There now your should have some more food for thinking on.

Well? The AF is dry and I replaced it when I cleaned the MAF. The fuel pressure I haven't checked yet because most of the time when it bogs down it spark knocks but I'll do that tomorrow morning after breakfast~ Thanks!

My 94 sport does the same darn thing. Highways and hills. Around town, not so much. I think my MAF is going bad though. When i unplug the MAF she runs great. Beside the fact she runs hot and drinks more gas.

Well, I reckon I'm going to have to spend the 80-100 bucks for an MAF and start the exploration process in figuring this out. Thanks Guys and gals
