Personally I would go with the pro comp AAL. Ebay quality isn't known to be good for anything. I had Monroe max-air shocks for a few years before I did my SAS/SOA and they helped a ton for towing. All you had to do was hook em up to a compressor and pump up the shocks to ~100psi. Not much sag then.

Pro Comp is cheap. Don't bother trying to save a couple extra dollars from an unknown on eBay.

Long or short? I assume I get the kit for the Ranger. Manufacturer part 13133 or 13120?

I have the short but would like to add or switch to the long. Wish I had started with the long. Those are the right numbers.

What's the benefit of add a leaf versus new shocks. Just curious, in need of new shocks and Monroe has the rebate on again through October, buy 3 get 1. And Monroe or rancho? Was interested in the 9000xl for manual settings. Daily driver, mostly city some highway but would like the option to get dirty

It adds a couple of inches of lift to the suspension. It also stiffens the rear suspension to aid in towing. In other words it keeps the rear end from sagging under load weight.

But I'm also going to be adding new shock all the way around because they are all worn out. Im trying to decide which brand and model would suit me best.

If you're towing all the time, the AAL will be good. Then on top of that I would go with either the Monroe MaxAir shocks or Rancho RS9000s if you want air adjustable in the era. Otherwise go with Monroe load leveling shocks which are cheap coil overs with a spring around the shock to help with payload.

This is a 25' boat with a heavy tongue weight and overall weight of about 6500lbs. As you can see no sag and I had my MaxAirs pumped up to about 110psi.

They aren't mutually exclusive. If you need new shocks, you need new shocks, period. Has nothing to do with lift and everything to do with use.

If you need lift, an add a leaf or shackles are needed. They do not serve the same purpose as shocks and should not be considered an either or situation.

Which shocks could be argued ad naseum.
