2001 Explorer Sport
I know this topic get beaten into the ground a bit, but does anyone have a source for rear spring add-a-leafs for a 2001 Sport? Napa carries a kit but it's an 'over the axle' helper spring and runs $300. Last time I posted on this someone mentioned swapping in springs for a 4-door, but the 4-doors I've peeked under look like they have the same springs as mine (4 leafs total).
I think that the Pro Comp 13120 kit supposedly only fits 4-doors, but I'm starting to wonder if those springs are really different between the 2 and 4 door?

Thanks

There is no difference what so ever between 2nd gen 4 door leafs and the 2 door leafs. The ones in mine are from a 96 4 door but I also added leafs into that pack from an f150. That Pro comp kit will work.

The ProComp 13120 is basically a universal add-a-leaf. You really have to be concerned about the width of the leaf. This one fits.

No worries

That Pro-Comp kit will work perfect on your 01 Sport. Just finished mine on my 01 Sport a few weeks ago. Love the feel of the stronger springs, and got a stunning 2 1/8 inch lift out of them. Maybe my old leaf pack was tired, but this upgrade is one of the best bang for the buck moves you can make.

Here's a great install how-to:

And a few 01 Sport thoughts from my upgrade:

Give'em hell, my friend.

Thanks Guys

I appreciate the help! My old Explorer is no longer a daily driver and with a bit over 200k miles (I've had it since new, still looks good in and out), it doesn't have much value as a trade in. So...I keep it around as a backup/fun vehicle and I'm trying to increase it's off-road capability a bit. This forum helps a bunch. Again, thank you.
